The story begins with its leaders Peter and Fe. From 1998 until 2001 Peter, and Fe worked together as husband and wife as Missionaries in Southeast Asia. Their focus was reaching an unreached people group and later leading mission outreaches to mobilize other believers to a Muslim country. In 2003 Peter and Fe’s leader trained them to lead the School of Frontier Missions (SOFM), a 3 month intensive mission course. Since then Peter and Fe have led over 12 SOFMs along with the condensed FMT (Frontier Mission Training) course. They also mobilize and teach in Discipleship Training Schools. Peter and Fe also conduct Kairos missions courses with local churches and YWAMers. Together they have developed various groups to disciple youth from the slums and streets, this was the beginning of the student sponsorship program.

The FM Center Cebu was founded in 2009 with the vision to pioneer a missions training center for the SOFM. The goal of the FM Center was to feature missions schools focused on the Least reached tribes and People groups from the major religious blocs like the Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Animist tribes. In 2012 FM leaders and staff pioneered a church in cooperation with a local pastor to reach out to the families of sponsored children, often among the poorest families in the slums. When Peter and Fe saw the great needs of street children they took over a student sponsorship ministry pioneered by their German friend. Since 2011 FM Cebu has sponsored over 100 children going to High schools and colleges nearby. Many have graduated and now work to help their families.

In 2015 Peter saw a vision of himself standing in front of a 3-story mission center building. Since street & slum kids are not welcome in the houses Peter & Fe used to rent, they felt the need for an own place where they could not be evicted for welcoming slum and street kids. In 2018 God provided an unfinished, dilapidated 3 story building centrally located in the City of Talisay, Cebu. Peter and Fe were able to renovate and finish this building in 3 years and purchase the tiny parking lot in front of the center in 2022 to secure the right of way. A tiny house in front was purchased to accommodate the leaders and some of the students.
YWAM FM Cebu also hosts visiting mission teams and provides disaster relief after storms and earthquakes which often affect the homes of the families FM Ceb serves. In 2025 Fe and Peter were chosen to lead YWAM FM Philippines, the Frontier Missions department of Youth with a Mission.

The vision of FM Cebu’s leaders and staff is to mobilize, train & send missionaries to the least reached, last and lost peoples worldwide and disciple disciple-makers even among the poorest of the poor to reach others for Christ. This is done through the student sponsorship program, training schools and hosted teams.
