What is SOFM?

Do you have a heart for Cross-cultural missions? Do you feel a passion to share the good news to other nations and their peoples?

The School of Frontier missions is a life-changing school training you to pioneer, equipping you with time proven tools to impact people or nations God put on your heart.

This School will prepare you to cross cultures, share the good news and make disciples that make disciples. Learn from International speakers with a wealth of field experience.

Lecture Phase

12 weeks

Our lecture phase introduces students to modern missions, world religions and understanding their world view. We equip each student with simple tools to disciple disciplers with the ultimate goal of creating missions movements.

Topics include:

Biblical & Historical Foundation of Missions
Introduction to Major World Religions and how to reach them
Harvest Multiplication Training (HMT): Evangelism and how to create/lead & multiplying house-churches
Orality: How to share the Gospel in cultures without a writen language. Learn about the tools of oral Bible communication.
Team building, Self-leadership & Member Care
Community development, Fund Raising and other Missional Lifestyle Skills
Outreach exposure to Frontier Mission projects

Outreach Phase

2 weeks

Our SOFM Outreach phase includes 2 weeks of hands-on, ministry experience, where students can practice their new skills.

We see the importance of exposing our students to existing pioneer mission projects. We believe in field exposure rather than just missions theory.

What you experience on an Outreach can change your life! Perhaps you’ll find your missional calling or discover your ministry passion. We hope you leave the Outreach itching for more!

Greetings from Peter & Fe!

“We have been with YWAM for over 30 years. Since our DTS days God spoke to me (Peter) about the Unreached but my wife helped me to realize our vision.

After working with a unreached people group in Southeast Asia, God led us into mobilization and training. Later our leader trained us to lead the SOFM.

It has been a joy to see workers released into several nations, predominantly in Asia.

While Our staff family is Filipino by majority, it also includes a German & an American. We welcome internationals and locals alike!

Fe (Filipina) leads the SSM (student sponsorship ministry) together with Peter, our overall German leader. A staffing team includes Analyn, Cel, James along with student leaders like Lovely.

Students staying with us are also trained for ministry in their free time, while other staff, like Amor, Mercy and Ivonne stay off base. During the lecture phase, our SOFM team is reinforced by additional staff.

This base sits nearby many ammendities: Grocery Stores, Laundry Service, Malls and Currency Exchange. On the base you’ll experience a tight-knit community that loves to celebrate!

Need a break? You have the opportunity to see our sister ministries like Cebu House of Prayer. Take a trip and enjoy a view of our moutains & beaches. In Cebu City you can learn some history visiting a Spanish Fort, or get to know the wildlife at Cebu Ocean Park.

There’s lots to see and plenty of tasty Filopino food to try! But most importantly are the people you meet and what God will show you.
